Roger Goy created the Wildlife Information Service (now the Wildlife Helpline National Service) in 1990.  This voluntary service which also operates evenings, weekends & bank holidays provides telephone/e-mail information on all things to do with UK and Southern Ireland Wildlife, from identification of flora and fauna, i.e. flowers, birds, butterflies, and animals through to contact information for specialist charities, organisations and welfare groups.

Since 1990 the service has received annual commendations in Environmental Awards and was recently the individual winner!  The service has also been runner up in the NATIONAL Henry Ford Conservation and Environmental Awards. Roger is a well known and respected knowledge base in all things natural.  Roger is a Life Member of Plantlife, The Wildlife Trusts, RSPB, Butterfly Conservation and his local Naturalists Union and makes regular appearances in the media including:

It is with great  sadness that I have learned of Roger’s death on Saturday 7 March 2009.

I have recently been working with him on the development of this new website and it will remain as a  lasting tribute to his work.
